Welcome Back for the 2019-2020 School Year!!
As we begin a new school year, change is the best way to
describe what lies ahead for Mapleton Middle School. The change begins with
officially having a full-time principal for the first time in over a decade. We
have two new teachers to welcome to the Mapleton family (Mrs. Kaufman – 7th
grade math and Mr. Wade – 8th grade intervention specialist). We
also have several teachers who are either taking on new roles, teaching new
classes, or have changed classrooms. We also have made many changes to course
offerings, curriculum, and grading practices that we believe will benefit every
Mapleton Middle School student.
One of the most noticeable changes you have seen over the
summer is the new registration system and our new website. As you have also
noticed, the website is a work in progress but. We expect that, as we get deeper
into the school year, the new website can be a productive source of information
for you and your child and I would encourage you to check the website
frequently to keep up-to-date on what is happening at Mapleton Middle School
but in the entire district. I also

So, with the start of school approaching, and with the
theme of change in mind, please take some time to discuss the following thought
with child as it relates to his or her approach to school– “Is good, good
enough?” This is a theme that we will explore with both students and teachers
throughout the school year.
