Mapleton Elementary School is participating in a fundraiser at McDonald’s on US Route 250 on Tuesday, April 22nd, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A portion of the sales during those hours will go toward technology at the elementary. Please come out and support our school!
Mapleton Elementary School has openings for morning and afternoon public preschool sessions. Preschool children must be 3 or 4 years old to attend. Please call Mary Walter, secretary, at 419-945-2188 for a preschool application packet. Openings filled on a first come, first serve basis. Sliding fee scale available to qualifying families.
To make-up calamity days over the 5 days allowed by the state, Mapleton Local Schools will be in session on Monday, April 21 and will add 15 minutes to the begiining of the school day and 15 minutes to the end of the school day beginning Monday, March 31 through Thursday, May 1.
Over the past few weeks the first graders have been working on a short movie about themselves. After taking pictures of one another, finding a picture of their favorite animal using creative commons search, and writing a short script, each student put together a short movie featuring their own narration. In an effort to serve young people with disabilities, Mapleton Local Schools is continually in process of locating and evaluating children from 3 to 21 years of age who are suspected as having a disability. Disabilities may include developmental delays, health impairments, autism, and traumatic brain injury. Individuals may contact the building Principals or Director of Special Services about children suspected as having a disablilty that may qualify for special education services. Information is available about special education policies and procedures in each building by contacting the building Principal.
