Mapleton awarded $450,000 Grant
The Mapleton Local School District submitted an Ohio Department of Education Expanding Opportunities for Each Child grant application in April, and has been awarded $450,000 over three years. Approximately 70% of these funds will go toward equipment and 30% will go for professional development. This grant award will allow us to expand our Project Lead The Way opportunities in each of the three buildings, to add Southern Regional Education Board Advance Career Integrated Production Technologies courses at MHS, and to expand our existing career-technical education pathway courses for students in grades 7-12. The grant funds will also allow us to create makerspaces in the elementary library and in the MS/HS Student Center as well as to add 10 new Chromebook carts and 3 laptop carts across the District. Feel free to contact Mr. Scott Smith, Superintentdent, if you would like to hear more details about the grant.
