Hello Mountie Families,

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!  My name is Chad Erwin and I am honored and excited to serve as the principal at Mapleton Middle School.  I am looking forward to getting to know and working with you this school year!  I have over twenty years of service as a committed educational leader working in public education.  Over the years, I have had an interest and desire to motivate students to meet standard based objectives by creating an atmosphere that is enjoyable, engaging, and exciting. 

I believe that all students will want to learn when they have experiences at school that embrace exploration and when they find a purpose for learning.  It is important to me to help students find opportunities to build confidence and to believe that they can do anything if they have the desire and determination to make it happen.  My focus is to increase student achievement, develop character, and provide a culture of excellence for every student. I will do whatever it takes to meet the needs of all students, parents, and teachers by fostering a kind, caring, and compassionate environment.  I have a passion for helping teams develop in a professional and positive way, so that people may recognize and experience success both individually and as a community.

Mapleton Middle school is a wonderful place that has a family atmosphere.  We care about our students and want to do everything that we can to provide the best education possible.  Students at Mapleton have expanding opportunities as we offer a wide variety of academic and extracurricular activities.  This allows students to actively participate and build relationships that will last a lifetime.  We are committed to helping young minds on an individual level discover their strengths for success.  It is our goal to help students find their individual pathway that will help prepare them for the future.  It is my commitment to you to provide clear and honest communication that will help answer your questions.  I would encourage you to connect with our Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter Mapleton Local Schools page for updated information and school highlights.
